HP Elite X2 1012 G1 Tablet - Changing the Battery in the Active Pen

This document pertains to HP Elite X2 1012 G1 tablets that came with a stylus, or pen.

Removing the battery

First remove the battery.
  1. Turn the cap in an anti-clockwise direction to loosen it.
  2. Remove the cap from the pen.
  3. Remove the battery from the pen.
    note:
    Take care not to damage the small instruction sheet that surrounds the battery in its compartment. The small instruction sheet has a diagram with instructions to insert the battery.

Replacing the battery

The pen uses a AAAA battery. Read the instructions and see the diagram below to replace the battery.
  1. Insert the battery in the correct orientation with the positive (+) end toward the tip of the pen.
    Carefully insert the small instruction sheet back into the battery compartment of the pen body, along with the battery. The small sheet of instructions surround the battery in the pen body or battery compartment.

  2. Replace the cap.
  3. Turn the cap in a clockwise direction to tighten it.
