Background

The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you about the following topics related to printer cleaning and maintenance:
  • User Cleaning Kit Part NumberCorrection
  • List of parts included in the User Cleaning Kit
  • Wipers for FB500/700 and FB550/750
  • Additional information on upper trolley wheel cleaning holes

Correct User Cleaning Kit Part Number

An incorrect part number of the User Cleaning Kit L1Q41-60034 appears several times in the current firmware release (AK B.04.04) and in the following User Manuals: HP Scitex FB550 FB750 Printers - User Guide and HP Scitex FB550 and FB750 Printers- Cleaning Instructions. Therefore:
  • Part number L1Q41-60034 is not orderable.
  • The correct part number to order is CQ121A.
This is the same part number as the User Cleaning Kit for FB500/700 printers and has been updated to include the correct wiper blade for the FB550/750 as well.

Wipers for the FB500/700 and FB550/750

Therefore, you will find two different service station wipers (one for the FB500/700 and one for the FB550/750) in the kit. When replacing a service station wiper, the operator must take care to install the proper wiper.
The following picture shows the difference between the wipers:
note:
Please, refer to “Scitex FB550 and 750 Printers User’s Guide.pdf” when replacing the service station wiper. Specifically, you will find the instructions on pages 90 and 91.

Additional information on upper trolley wheel cleaning holes

When cleaning the upper wheels through the access holes (the “Clean Carriage Wheels” maintenance routine) the user must ensure that the cotton on the cotton swabs does not become separated from the swab. The separated material can cause interference in the carriage path and potentially generate print anomalies or other errors.
