This document applies to HP and Compaq computers that were upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8 or Windows 7.
If you installed Windows 10 in the past ten days, you have the option to return to the version of Windows you were using before the upgrade. Use the Go Back feature in Windows 10 to restore Windows 8 or Windows 7 on your computer.
note:The Go Back option will only be available for ten days after the installation of Windows 10. If you perform a disc cleanup, refresh, or reset in Windows 10, you will not have the option to go back. If you have deleted the windows.old file from your computer, you will not have the option to go back. If your installation required an external USB drive you must use the same drive to go back.
For business computers, operating system installation may be managed at the IT level and may not be available in Windows to roll back to a previous version. To verify, contact your company's IT department or your local IT service.
