HP Elite x2 1011 G1 PCs - The Battery Loses Charge Intermittently While Computer Is In Connected Standby Mode

DESCRIPTION
The battery intermittently discharges more on some days than others. This issue may be caused by the OS attempting to download Windows updates while the computer is in Connected Standby mode. The computer wakes from sleep internally and attempts to connect to the Internet to download the updates. When the quantity of the updates are large, the battery power discharges more than normal to allow the updates to be downloaded.

RESOLUTION
The battery functionality is normal. Follow the instructions to install Windows Updates with the AC power connected to the computer in order to keep the batteries charged overnight.
  1. Download and install Windows Updates while the computer is awake and connected to AC power.
  2. Verify the computer is connected to AC power when entering sleep mode (i.e. - Connected Standby) for the night. If any updates are installed throughout the night, the batteries will be fully charged the next day.
