HP Tablets, Notebooks, and All-in-One PCs - What to do if you forget your sign-in password, pattern, or PIN (Android OS)

This document applies to HP tablets, notebooks, and All-in-One computers with Android operating system.
The sign-in password prevents unauthorized access to your Android device. If you forget your sign-in password, you are prevented from signing in, and the device must be reset to factory settings.
  caution:
All data saved on your device is deleted when you perform a factory reset. Data stored on a microSD card is not deleted. All apps are uninstalled. Data stored in your Google Account can be restored.

Resetting your tablet or computer running Android operating system
