HP JetAdvantage On Demand - Install HP JetAdvantage On Demand as an end user

Place the right documents in the right hands. HP JetAdvantage Private Print documents are held in a secure print queue until a user is authenticated at the device and releases them. Unreleased jobs are automatically deleted three days after submission. Save time and reduce excess waste from unclaimed print jobs by enabling users to authenticate, release, and retrieve only the jobs they want.

Activate a personal HP JetAdvantage On Demand account

To begin enjoying the benefits of HP JetAdvantage On Demand, the company administrator needs to create a user account. Once the company administrator creates the user account, an email will be sent with a user name and a link to set a password. The activation email looks similar to this example:

  1. Click the Activate Your New Account link to open the HP JetAdvantage On Demand web site and set a password. The password:
    • Must be at least 8 characters
    • Must contain at least 1 UPPER CASE character
    • Must contain at least 1 lower case character
    • Must contain at least 1 number or special character
    • Must have no white space

Log into an HP JetAdvantage On Demand account

After a password is set, return to the HP JetAdvantage On Demand web site at any time by going to www.hpondemand.com.

  1. Using a supported internet browser, go to the HP JetAdvantage On Demand web site. A 'Sign-in' window displays.
    note:
    For a list of supported internet browsers, click here, and then go to the 'Supported web browsers' section.
  2. Type your User name. Your User name is the email address used when the HP JetAdvantage On Demand account was activated.
  3. Type your Password, and then click the Sign in button. You are signed into HP JetAdvantage On Demand and a welcome screen displays.
  4. Click the Administrative Dashboard: HP JetAdvantage On Demand link to go to the dashboard. Or, click Begin Setup Wizard: Private Print to install the HP JetAdvantage Private Print app and enable the device on your network. The HP JetAdvantage Private Print app allows documents to be sent to a personal HP JetAdvantage Private Print queue, where they are held securely until ready to be printed. Queued print jobs can be printed on demand from a supported printer's control panel.

Install HP JetAdvantage On Demand apps

Securely print confidential documents and reduce waste with the HP JetAdvantage Private Print app (Private Print). Private Print allows documents to be sent to a personal HP JetAdvantage Private Print queue, where they are held securely until they are printed from the printer's control panel.
Before HP Private Print is installed for Windows®, an administrator must install HP Private Print onto a printer and the device must be enabled.

Use the following steps to install HP Private Print for Windows®:
  1. Make sure that an administrator has installed the Private Print app onto a supported printer and that the device has been enabled. For information about how to install HP Private Print onto a supported printer, click here. For more information about how administrators can enable a device, click here, and then go to the 'Install HP JetAdvantage On Demand apps' section.
  2. Log into HP JetAdvantage On Demand. A Welcome page displays.
  3. On the Welcome page, click Begin Setup Wizard: Private Print, or click Continue Setup Wizard: HP Private Print to start the Setup Wizard for the Private Print app. Or, from the dashboard, click HP JetAdvantage Private Print: Access Your Private Print Queue and then click Setup to start the Setup Wizard. A ‘Download the Driver’ page displays.
  4. Click Download and install the driver. A window opens with an *.exe file ready for download.
    For a 64-bit operating system, download the HP ePrint + JetAdvantage driver for Windows 64–bit software. For a 32-bit operating system, download the HP ePrint + JetAdvantage driver for Windows 32–bit software.
    note:
    The HP ePrint + JetAdvantage driver can only be installed on Windows® 7 and Windows® 8 computers.
  5. Save the .exe file in a location that can be found easily, and then open the file.
  6. After opening the *.exe file, follow the prompts to complete the download.
  7. Return to the Setup Wizard browser window, and then click Continue. A 'Test Private Print' page displays.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to print a test document using the HP Private Print queue.
    Confidential documents can now be sent to a personal HP JetAdvantage Private Print queue and then printed on demand from the printer's control panel.

    note:
    Click HP JetAdvantage Private Print: Access Your Private Print Queue from the HP JetAdvantage On Demand dashboard to see a list of queued HP JetAdvantage On Demand documents that are ready for printing.
    note:
    Documents in an HP Private Print queue expire 3 days after being added.
