HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 and CP1025nw Color Printer Series - A 'Fuser Error' Displays on the Computer, and the Printer Does Not Print

Issue

A 'Fuser Error' message displays on the computer screen, and the printer does not print.

Solution one: Reset the printer

Follow these steps to reset the printer.
  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord.
  4. Press the Power button to turn on the printer. Wait for the product to start.
  5. Try printing again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

Solution two: Reset the printer and then wait 25 minutes

This error might display if the fuser temperature becomes too hot. Follow these steps to turn off the printer and allow the fuser to cool before printing again.
  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Wait at least 25 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord.
  4. Press the Power button to turn on the printer. Wait for the product to start.
  5. Try printing again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

Solution three: Plug the printer directly into a wall socket, and then reset the printer

Power issues can cause a fuser error to display. Follow these steps to check for a faulty surge protector.

If you are not using a surge protector, continue to the next solution.

Step one: Plug the printer directly into a wall socket

  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. If you are using a surge protector, unplug the power cord and plug it directly into a wall socket.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Press the Power button to turn on the printer. Wait for the product to start.

Step two: Try printing again

Try to print again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

Solution four: Service the printer

Service or replace your HP product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.
Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area.
To confirm your warranty status, go to HP Product Warranty Check. Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty products.
