How to resolve Windows Vista hangs at loading bar screen, but the loading bar is running during system startup

This document pertains to HP Desktop PCs with Windows Vista.
Use the steps in this document when you're experiencing the system won´t boot into Windows. It just hangs at the Windows Home Server startup screen. The loading bar in the bottom just keeps on running, but the login screen or desktop never appears, shown as picture below.

  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. After the HP logo screen on boot up, before the Windows logo appears, press the f8 key repeatedly.
  3. When prompted, select the Safe Mode with Networking option.
  4. Log onto the computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
  5. Open the device manager by going to: Control panel> Adiministrative Tools> Computer Management> Device manger.
  6. Click the plus sign next to Network adapters.
  7. Right-click the 6to4 and isatap device and select Uninstall one by one until all 6to4 and isatap device is uninstalled.

  8. Restart the computer.
