Introduction
Clean the product periodically to ensure that copies and scans remain clear and that product performance is not affected by dirt buildup.
Cleaning the HP All-in-One
Use these steps to clean different components of the product. To skip to a certain step, use the following links.
Cleaning the top side of the glass
Use the following steps to clean the top side of the glass.
  1. Press the power button () to turn off the product and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Raise the lid.
  3. Clean the glass by using a soft, lint-free cloth that has been moistened with a mild glass cleaner.
      caution:
    Use only glass cleaner to clean the scanner glass. Do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride, all of which can damage the scanner glass. Do not spray the glass cleaner directly on the glass.
  4. Dry the glass with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
  5. Lower the lid.
  6. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet and then press the power button () to turn on the product.
Cleaning the lid backing
Use the following steps to clean the lid backing.
  1. Press the power button () to turn off the product, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Raise the lid.
  3. Clean the lid backing.
    1. Gently wipe the lid backing with a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with mild soap and warm water. Do not scrub the lid backing.
    2. If further cleaning is needed, gently wipe the backing with a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, and wipe the backing thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any residual alcohol.
        caution:
      Be careful not to spill alcohol on the glass or painted parts of the product; it might cause damage.
    3. Dry the backing with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
        caution:
      Do not use paper-based wipes; they might scratch the backing.
  4. Lower the lid.
  5. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, and then press the power button () to turn on the product.
Cleaning the paper feed rollers
Use the following steps to clean the paper feed rollers.
  1. Press the power button () to turn off the product and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Remove the rear access door.

  3. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth into purified or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from it.
  4. Use the cloth to remove any dust or dirt buildup on the rubber rollers.
  5. Replace the rear access door by gently pushing the door toward the product until it snaps into place.
  6. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet and then press the power button () to turn on the product.
