HP Notebook and Tablet PCs - Finding Warranty Information

This information is for HP notebook and tablet PCs.
This document describes how to find warranty and support information for your computer.

Use the HP Product Warranty Check website

The HP Product Warranty Check webpage provides current warranty status, category and warranty end date. It also offers support solutions for your computer.
note:
You need to know the country/region the computer was purchased in and the serial number of the computer to check warranty status using this method.
  1. Find the serial number for your HP notebook or tablet. Go to Finding the Serial Number for detailed steps.
  2. In a browser, go to Product Warranty Check.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select the Country/Region the computer was purchased in, type your serial number, and then select Check Warranty.

Use HP Support Assistant (Windows)

Use HP Support Assistant to find the current warranty status, category and warranty end date of your device.
note:
An Internet connection is needed for HP Support Assistant to locate your computer's warranty information.
  1. Go to HP Support Assistant to download and install HP Support Assistant software, if it is not already installed on your computer.
  2. In Windows, search for and open HP Support Assistant.
  3. On the My devices tab, select My notebook to open the details view.

  4. In the details view, select Warranty and Services. HP Support Assistant displays warranty details.

Use HP Support Assistant (Android)

Use HP Support Assistant to find the current warranty status, category and warranty end date of your PC.
  1. Make sure your Android device is connected to a wireless network with an active Internet connection.
  2. Open the Google Play Store, search for and install HP Support Assistant, if it is not already installed on your device.
    note:
    HP Support Assistant might not be available for all versions of Android operating system or all HP devices running Android.
  3. Open the app, and then tap Warranty and Service Contracts to find your warranty information.
