Evo N180 - Installing the Modem Board
Removing the Modem Board

Prepare the computer for disassembly.

Turn the computer bottom side up with the front facing forward.

Remove the expansion cover as described in the Memory Expansion Board Section.

Disconnect the modem cable from the modem board 1 (Figure 5-9).
-
Spread the retaining tabs 2 on each side of the modem board.
The board releases and rests at an angle. -
Remove the modem board by pulling it away from the socket at an angle 3.

Installing the Modem Board
Reverse the above procedure to install a modem board.
Removing the Modem Cable
The modem cable is included in the Cable Kit (spare part number 253946-001).

Prepare the computer for disassembly.

Remove the system board.

Turn the system board bottom side up with the rear panel facing forward.

Disconnect the modem cable 1 from the modem and route it from between the modem connector 2 and the memory expansion 3 and video memory connectors 4 .

Remove the tape 5 that secures the modem cable to the system board.
-
Disconnect the modem cable from the system board 6 .

Installing the Modem Cable
Reverse the above procedure to install the modem cable.
