HP Network ScanJet 5 Scanners - Using PaperPort (TM) Version 6

Issue:
After installing PaperPort 6.0 or above with the HP Network ScanJet 5, when trying to have the HP Network ScanJet 5 utility bring the document into the preferred inbox of “PaperPort for HP,” a message will appear: “Current Inbox cannot completely process incoming document. Push Yes to delete the current document. Push No if you wish to leave the current document into your work area and disable the inbox.”
Solution
Create a new inbox for this version of PaperPort.
  1. In the HP Network ScanJet5 utility, choose Add New Inbox.
  2. Put the bullet in Launch Application and then click OK.
  3. In the Name of Inbox box, put a Name. In the file type box, choose any of the extensions.
  4. In the Application to Start, browse to the PaperPort executable. Choose OK.
Once the document has been brought into PaperPort, to convert to a max extension:
  1. Highlight the document, right-click, and choose “Duplicate as PaperPort item.” This will create a copy of the original, creating a second file with the .max extension.
    OR:
  2. To convert a PDF document into a max file:
    1. Highlight the PDF document.
    2. Choose File and Print.
    3. Choose PaperPort as the printer and then select OK.
The PaperPort software can view originals and copies of originals.
