HP Digital Sender 9100C - Control Panel Error: Cannot Connect to PC

Issue:
The HP Digital Sender gives the error message: "Cannot connect to PC. Job canceled."
Solution
Follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that the destination computer is on, and that the HP Digital Sender link is up and running on the destination computer.
  2. Make sure that the HP Digital Sender and destination computer is connected to the network using a command such as ping.
  3. Make sure that the enable Receive setting in the HP Digital Sender link is enabled. To check this, click the inbox tab and verify the Enable receive check box is selected. When using the Host Name (or machine name) of the PC in Address Book Manager, the user does not receive the document sent by the HP Digital Sender.
  4. On the receiving Windows 95 or Windows 98 PC, enable File and Print Sharing services for Microsoft (R) Networking.
    1. To do this, right-click Network Neighborhood and then select Add.
    2. Choose Service and then Add.
    3. Select (by default) Microsoft, File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then select OK.
There is no need to share any devices or files to enable this.
