HP Designjet 5000 and 800 Series Printers - Printer Spools Out Empty Media when Printing from ArcView GIS

Issue:
When printing From ArcView to an HP Designjet 800 or 5000 series printer, the printer will eject a blank piece of media.
Solution
Turn the printer's Nesting option off as instructed below:
HP Designjet 800 series:
  1. Using the ARROW keys on the printer's front panel, scroll to the JobManagement menu (3rd Icon from the top on the far-right side of the display) and press ENTER.
  2. Scroll to Nest settings and press ENTER.
  3. Scroll to Nest = and press ENTER.
  4. Highlight OFF and press ENTER.
  5. Press the BACK key until the main menu is displayed.
  6. Re-send the file from ArcView.
HP Designjet 5000 series:
  1. Using the ARROW keys on the printer's front panel, scroll to the Utilitiesmenu (icon of printer on the far-right side of the display) and press ENTER.
  2. Scroll to Queuing and Nesting and press ENTER.
  3. Scroll to Nest = and press ENTER.
  4. Select Off and press ENTER.
  5. Press the BACK key until the main menu is displayed.
  6. Re-send the file from ArcView.
Summary
ArcView uses a program called ArcPress when printing, and ArcPress does not support nesting. The printer should print correctly with the Nesting option turned off, however, if problems persist following the solution above, contact ESRI for further support.
