HP Designjet 50ps Printer - ICC Profile Management

ICC Profiles
ICC Profiles are managed using the PrintManager. In order to access the PrintManager, use a Web browser (Internet Explorer 5 or higher or Netscape Communicator 4.08 or higher) with cookies and JavaScript enabled.
  • From the client computer, type the IP address of the server plus the port 8080: http://Server_IP_address:8080
  • From the server computer, type http://127.0.0.1:8080 in the browser’s address field or go to Start, Programs, hp Designjet 50PS, and then PrintManager.
    note:
    The PrintManager requires login as Admin, User, or Guest. Only the Admin is able to install, delete, or change the profile settings. User and Guest can only view the list of available profiles.

List of ICC profiles

Click Settings, and then ICC-Profiles. This displays a complete list of profiles installed on the RIP server.

Setting the default ICC input profile

  1. Click Settings, and then ICC-Profiles.
  2. Click the desired profile.
  3. Click the Exclamation icon.
  4. Click Close.
  5. The current default profiles are denoted by the word Default following the profile name.
    note:
    There are two default input profiles. One is the RGB input profile and the other is the CMYK input profile.

Add a New ICC profile

  1. Click Settings, and then ICC-Profiles.
  2. Click Add new ICC Profile in the lower left.
  3. Select the correct ICC type from the drop-down list. The ICC type selection will order the ICC profile to appear in the correct Color Management list.
    • CMYK: Input CMYK profile.
    • RGB: Input CMYK profile.
    • Local: Output CMYK profile (proofer profile - not press profile). If you select this setting, the name of the media will appear in Color Management, Output profile in JobStream or Virtual Printer settings.
  4. Type the path of the ICC profile including the file name or click Browse and select the profile.
  5. Click OK.
  6. This profile will now be listed on the list of installed profiles. It may take several minutes for the new profile to appear.

Delete an ICC profile

  1. Click Settings, and then ICC-Profiles.
  2. Click the desired profile.
  3. Click the Trash Can icon to delete it.
    note:
    The current default profile is protected from deletion. Before deleting a default profile, select a new default profile.
