HP Designjet 10ps, 20ps, 50ps, 30 and 30n Printers - Paper Jam Errors When Loading Through the Rear Tray

When feeding paper into the printer from the rear tray, the printer stops with the paper jam icon flashing on the display. All other paper trays work fine.
Select the appropriate media source, from the PostScript(R) Driver, RIP Default settings, or the Office Driver.
When a job is sent to the printer, it is assigned a paper source. The installed default is tray 1. When a job is sent to the printer with paper loaded in the rear feed, the paper sensor is already tripped, and the printer reports a jam, because it detects paper where there should not be any. By sending the print job with the rear feed selected as the source, the printer expects the paper sensor to be tripped, then loads the paper successfully.
The Rear feed paper path is not an automatic paper detect mechanism. In order to print to the rear feed successfully, the rear feed option must be selected in the PS Driver, RIP, or Office Driver.
