HP Designjet 5000 Series Printers - Hard Disk Partition Information
Issue:
What is the partitioning of the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) on the HP Designjet 5000 series printers?
Solution
Below is a breakdown of the HDD partitions for both the 5 GB (HP Designjet 5000) and the 20 GB (HP Designjet 5000PS) Hard drives.
HP Designjet 5000 hard disk drive (5 GB)
-
System Partition - 200 MB (this is used for firmware code, not available for queuing).
-
Resources Partition has 2.5 GB (used for Image of the disk, resources, Web server - not available for queuing).
-
Queue Partition has 2.3 GB used for queuing print jobs (available for queuing print jobs).
The HP Deskjet 5000PS hard disk drive (20 GB)
-
System Partition has 200 MB (this is used for firmware code, not available for queuing or processing).
-
The Resources Partition has 2.5 GB (used for Image of the disk, PS resources, Web server, downloaded fonts - not available for queuing).
-
The Raw PS Partition has 2 GB (for Source list and Display list - not available for queuing).
-
The Queue Partition has 15.3 GB available for queuing PostScript(R) print jobs (available for queuing print jobs).
note:
When queuing HP-GL/2 print jobs, 17.3 GB is available to queue jobs. This is because HP-GL/2 does not need to use the 2 GB for Raw PS.
