HP Designjet Series Printers - Virtual Memory Errors on PC's Running Windows-based Operating Systems
Issue:
A virtual memory error appears on the PC display. The error may be displayed before the printer starts the print job or while the job is being printed. The file sent is either too large for the PC to handle or there are not enough resources available on the PC to process the data. This is an issue with resources on the PC and is not related to the printer.
Solution
Check the virtual memory settings on the PC.
Windows XP
-
Right click on the My Computer icon.
-
Click Properties.
-
Click the Advanced tab.
-
Under Performance, click Settings.
-
Select the Advanced tab again.
-
Under Virtual Memory, select Change.
-
Increase the maximum size of the virtual memory.
-
Re-send the file.
If increasing the virtual memory settings does not resolve the issue, select the Print directly to the printer option in the driver.
note:This option will not be available if the driver is shared. This option will also disable the use of the driver in an offline mode.
If neither of these options resolve the virtual memory issue, it is likely that the available free space on the hard disk drive is insufficient to process the data.
