HP Designjet 400 Series and 1000 Series - Uninstalling HP Designjet Toolbox from Windows 2000 and XP

Issue:
The HP Designjet Toolbox, a user interface for monitoring and displaying the printer status for the HP Designjet 400 series and 1000 series printers, causes prints to lock up in Windows 2000 and XP. Other Windows versions are unaffected. Uninstalling the HP Designjet Toolbox in the Control Panel alone does not resolve the issue.
Solution
Delete the file HPLSETUP.INI by performing the following steps:
  1. Access the C: drive.
  2. Open the WINNT folder.
  3. Find the HPLSETUP.INI file.
  4. Right-click on HPLSETUP.INI.
  5. Click Delete.
Once the HPLSETUP.INI file has been deleted, uninstall the HP Designjet Toolbox in the Control Panel as shown below:
  1. Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Find and highlight HP Designjet Toolbox at the Change or Remove Programs tab of the Add/Remove Programs window.
  4. Click Change/Remove, then click Yes to confirm the file deletion.
