HP LaserJet Printers - Mac OS: Connecting to a Macintosh Computer

Introduction
Many of the HP LaserJet printers either have PostScript (R) onboard or as an option. HP includes Macintosh PostScript drivers with these printers. Some LaserJet printers do not have the PostScript language available. HP does not provide a Macintosh printing solution for non-PostScript LaserJet printers.
Discussion
Third-party vendors have developed software products that convert files from the standard PostScript or QuickDraw that the Macintosh uses into PCL or raster data, which the HP LaserJet printer understands. However, these translator drivers may have limited features and functionality that do not allow them to take advantage of the printer's features. Future driver upgrades are subject to availability from the third-party manufacturer.
