HP 48g Calculator - Performing the Self-Test

Introduction
The procedure below will test the calculator for proper operation.
Instructions
To run self-test, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on the calculator.
  2. Press and hold [ON]
  3. Press and release the ‘E’ key (the key with E next to it).
  4. Release [ON]
To halt the self-test (system halt):
  1. Press and hold [ON]
  2. Press and release the ‘C’ key (the key with C next to it).
  3. Release [ON]. The empty stack display should appear.
    The diagnostic self-test test is in the internal ROM and RAM, and generates various patterns in the display.
