## HP 39g and 39G+ Calculator - Overview and Features

Product overview
The HP 39g graphing calculator is an algebraic graphing calculator for math and science students.
Product features
Product features for the HP 39g include:
Large viewing screen
Input and view equations and expressions on the large 131x64 pixel high-contrast screen in textbook mode.
E-lessons
E-lessons (APLETS) are an outstanding learning tool. Adapted from topics in textbooks, APLETS are electronic lessons packaged to help students learn math and science.
Split screen
With the 39g's split screen, math relationships can be viewed in two displays for side-by-side comparisons.
Dynamic teaching
Use the built-in trig. and quadratic explorer and explore sine, cosine, or quadratics in real time. This feature also allows the control of graphs and equations and the ability to see how they relate to one another.
Communication
The HP 39g can be connected directly to a personal computer and has the support for an overhead display unit. The 39g can also communicate with other calculators: using the infrared port data, equations, notes, and e-lessons can be sent from one 39g to another. The infrared port is built-in so there is no need for an extra cable.
Other special operating features
Other special operating features for the 39g include:
• Algebraic notation
• Over 600 built-in functions
• 256 KB of built-in memory
Math features
Math features for the 39g include:
• Factorization
• Expansion
• Substitution
• Systems of linear equations
• Linear Algebra and matrices
• Trigonometry (trig. and hyperbolic functions, degrees, and radians)
• Lists and sequences
• Exponential and logarithmic functions
• Permutations, combinations, and factorials
• Differentiation and integration
• HP Equation Solver
Statistical features
Statistical features include:
• Descriptive statistics (lists, single, two variables, frequencies, regression, summary statistics)
• Sample data input, editing, plotting, and viewing
• Sample data descriptions for making inferences and measure inferences about the population of interest with hypothesis tests and confidence intervals
Graphing features
Graphing features include:
• Expanded plotting possibilities (plot types include: function, parametric, polar, conic, sequence, and statistical plots)
• Function analysis (root, extrema, slope, area, and intersection)
• Plotting with tracing and zooming
• Graphic, symbolic, and numeric views
Test suitability
The HP 39g is suitable for the following tests:
• AP
• SAT
• PSAT
