HP Jornada 520 and 540 Series Pocket PC - Making Voice Recordings that Will Play Back on the PC
The HP Jornada 520 or 540 series pocket PC uses HP Dynamic Voice for making voice recordings. These recordings are not recognized by the PC, and therefore cannot be played back on the PC. Installing the HP Dynamic Voice Codec for Desktop PCs will allow the PC to recognize the recordings.
If the HP Dynamic Voice Codec is not installed, any recordings done in HP Dynamic Voice format would have to be re-recorded using another sampling rate before they could be used on the desktop PC.
Download and install the HP Dynamic Voice Codec using the link below. Once the software is installed, the desktop PC will recognize and play recordings made on the pocket PC.
Changing the Sampling Rates
Another option is to change the sampling rates before recording. If this option is desired, follow the steps below.
Open the Voice Recorder application.
Click Tools, then Options.
Click Global Input Options.
Change the Sampling Rate from HP Dynamic Voice to another option.
note:There is no option for changing the sampling rates of previously recorded files. The sampling rates will change only future recordings.
