HP Jornada 680 and 680e Palmtop PC - Unit ‘Hung’ While Inserting a Storage Card Containing ‘Autorun’ file

Issue:
Unit 'Hung' at low memory while inserting a storage card with 'Autorun' file.
Solution
At program memory low state, the unit may not read and execute the ‘Autorun’ file in the Storage Card properly and thus causing the system to hang.
  1. Remove storage card.
  2. Perform soft reset to unit by pressing the reset button on the keyboard.
  3. Increase system program memory. Go to Start. Go to Settings then Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Memory tab, move the slider to the left to increase program memory. You may have to delete some files to allocate more memory.
  4. Close all open documents and exit any applications that are running. Perform a soft reset.
  5. The ‘Autorun’ file should run now after inserting the storage card.
