HP 360LX and 340LX Palmtop PCs - PIM and Pocket Office Issues

ISSUE: Why doesn't my Calendar launch into the last date where I last left it
SOLUTION: No resolution. The Calendar application will always launch into today's date regardless of the where the application was closed. Simply launch the Calendar and go to the desired date.
ISSUE: In Calendar, when start and end dates are more than 31 days, an error message saying "Appointments must be 31 or fewer days long" appears.
SOLUTION: This is a designed feature. If the appointment is longer than a month, you have to make it repeating occurrence.
ISSUE: In Pocket Word, after transferring a Word file from the PC to the Palmtop PC, the table format changes (ie. the table format from center changed to left align)
SOLUTION: Pocket Word does not have the features of Microsoft Word, e.g. tables, hence these attributes will not transfer completely.
ISSUE: Why is the underlined smarticon half hidden by the help smarticon in the PocketWord application?
SOLUTION: This is a Windows CE 2.0 defect.
ISSUE: What are some of the things I should take note when using Pocket PowerPoint?
SOLUTION:
  1. Pocket PowerPoint(R) can require a lot of memory to display complex graphics. You may need to allocate more RAM to Program Memory using System Control Panel.
  2. Pocket PowerPoint uses a caching scheme to improve performance when navigating forward and back through a presentation. To minimize delays when advancing slides during a show, it is recommended that you spend at least 5-10 seconds on each slide before advancing to the next. This will allow the next slide image to be cached and ensure a quick transition. The size of the cache is directly related to the availability of Program Memory. Also, this cache is automatically flushed if another program requests additional memory.
ISSUE: Can I convert Pocket PowerPoint (.ppv) to Microsoft PowerPoint 97 (.ppt) files?
SOLUTION: The Pocket PowerPoint conversion process can convert Microsoft PowerPoint 97 (.ppt) files to Pocket PowerPoint (.ppv). It cannot do the reverse and convert .ppv to .ppt format.
