HP CD-ROM Server for Ethernet Networks - Installing and Configuring CD-ROM Servers

Issue:
How are HP CD-ROM Server Tower Modules integrated in towers?
Solution
Integrating the plug-in tower module into a tower is as easy as integrating a CD-ROM drive. The form factor is the same (that is, 5.25-inch half-height). The connectors are also the same and are described below:
  • The power connector is a standard PC 4-pin power connector (12/5 volts), which means that the power supply available in the CD-ROM tower can also be used to supply the CD-ROM server.
  • The SCSI connector is a standard 50-pin header connector .
  • The network connectors are placed on an external board, connected to the CD-ROM server via a ribbon cable.
  • The board is intended to be mounted on the back of the CD-ROM tower, which means easy access to the network connectors.
