HP Deskjet 350 Series Printers - Troubleshooting Turn on Problems

Issue:
What action should be taken if the printer will not turn on?
Solution
Try each of the following troubleshooting procedures:
  • Hold down the POWER button for three to five seconds when turning on the printer.
  • Make sure the power module and the power cord connections are not loose.
  • Push the connector on the power cord firmly into the printer. The square connector on the power cord should touch the side of the printer. See Figure 1 and Figure 2 below.
  • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet first, and then plug the power cord into the printer while holding down the Power button.
  • Disconnect the parallel cable from the printer, and try turning the printer on. If the printer turns on, try using a different parallel cable or connect the printer to a different PC.
  • If using a power strip, try plugging the printer's power cord directly into a wall outlet.
  • If using a wall outlet, try plugging the printer into a wall outlet located in another room, or into another outlet that is known to work.
  • Remove the battery pack (if installed), and see if the printer will turn on. If so, the battery pack may be defective.
  • If using the battery pack, it may need recharging. Try using the power module to see if the printer will turn on.
  • If the printer still will not turn on after following the steps above, contact HP Customer Care Center for assistance.
