Possible causes
Power light on and Resume light blinking
There is an Input/Output (I/O) Stall:
The printer is out of paper.
Paper needs to be ejected.
There is a media size or type mismatch.
The printer is no longer receiving data.
Power light on and Print Cartridge light blinking
Incorrect print cartridge installation.
The print cartridge is damaged or not usable.
The print cartridge is low or out of ink.
The wrong type of print cartridge is installed.
Power and Resume lights blinking (synchronous)
There is a Carriage stall. Turn off the printer and open the Access Cover. Remove any packing materials or excess paper from the printer. When there are no obstructions, turn the printer off and then on again.
Clean the encoder strip with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Resume light blinking
There is a paper jam or paper motor stall. Clear the paper jam.
All lights blinking
This is an internal printer error. Turn the printer off, then on again. If all the lights still blink, the problem is likely caused by a failure in the printer. The printer will need to be repaired.
