To resolve this issue, perform one of the following procedures:

Search field next to the
Start button, type
Windows Update.

Scroll to the bottom and select
Advanced options.

Under Advanced options, turn on
Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows.

Update Windows.

Verify the updates by typing
view update history in the
Search field next to the
Start button and then select
View your update history.
Procedure 2: Match Screen Resolutions
Adjust the screen resolution on the external monitor to match the computer/tablet screen resolution as appropriate for the affected computer/tablet.
