The Customer Involvement Program (CIP), previously known as ‘Autosend’, is a statistical usage
tracking system; it collects the printer’s product name, product number, serial number (only if
enabled), firmware version, and usage values, such as ink and media used, printer errors, and recent
print information.
Once enabled, the printer automatically sends usage snapshots to HP via the internet approximately
once per week for as long the CIP remains enabled. This data is used to improve the following products
and provide better service and support.
