HP LaserJet Enterprise, HP PageWide Enterprise - Stored or personal jobs are overwritten

Issue: Stored or personal jobs are overwritten by the next stored or personal job, or all jobs are overwritten.

The probability of this occurrence is expected to be low.

Cause

This issue can occur if the job storage settings in the printer driver or in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) are set to the following values:

In the EWS, the Temporary Job Storage Limit is set to "1" or another low numerical value
In the printer driver, the If job name exists: option is set to Replace Existing File

Solution

To resolve this issue, update the job storage settings in the EWS and/or the printer driver.

Click the plus sign () next to one of the options below to expand the section and then follow the steps provided.

Option one: Update the job storage settings in the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Perform the following steps to update the job storage settings in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Open the EWS using the following steps:
1. First, locate the printer's IP address on the printer control panel using the following steps:
  Note:
  The steps vary according to the type of control panel.
  
  HP FutureSmart 3 control panels
  
  HP FutureSmart 4 and 5 control panels
  - HP FutureSmart 3: From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Network icon to display the IP address or host name.
  - HP FutureSmart 4 and 5: From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Information icon , and then touch the Network icon to display the IP address or host name.
2. Open a Web browser, and in the address field, type the printer's IP address or host name exactly as it displays on the printer control panel. Then press the Enter key on the computer keyboard.

  The EWS opens.
On the EWS Home page, click the Copy/Print tab, and then click Manage Stored Jobs in the left navigation pane.
In the Temporary Job Storage Limit field, increase the number of jobs that can be stored, and then click Apply to save the setting.

Note:
The EWS might look slightly different than the image below, but the steps are the same.

Option two: Update the job storage settings in the printer driver

Perform the following steps to update the job storage settings in the printer driver.

Open the printer driver and click the Job Storage tab.
If Replace Existing File is selected in the If job name exists: drop-down menu, select a different option, click Apply, and then click OK to save the setting.
