DESCRIPTION

When updating the system BIOS it is normal for a series of 2 long beeps followed by 2 short beeps to occur at least two times, and the power LED will blink after initiating the BIOS update. During this process the screen will be blank. After the beeps the system will shut down for about 30 seconds, and then it powers itself up. This is normal behavior for the BIOS update.

Note: During this process the LED will be blinking:

For Notebooks the battery LED will blink white/amber
For Desktops the power LED will blink red/white

Note: There may be some variation of this process.

RESOLUTION

To update the system BIOS follow the instructions outlined in the video below:

Do not reset, turn off, or remove power from the system during the update. The unit will power itself up automatically after the BIOS update is complete.

Note: Once initiated, any interruption of the BIOS update process may result in corruption of the BIOS making the system unusable.

The future BIOS will change this behavior to be more user friendly.
