HP Color LaserJet CM4730 MFP - Replace the Firmware Flash Memory Card

Firmware flash memory card replacement
  caution:
Static electricity can damage flash memory cards. When handling flash memory cards, either wear an antistatic wrist strap or frequently touch the surface of the flash memory card antistatic package, then touch bare metal on the printer.
  1. Turn the MFP off.
  2. Disconnect all power and interface cables.
  3. Locate the gray formatter pressure release tabs on the formatter board in the rear of the MFP.
  4. Gently squeeze the tabs and pull them out of the formatter.
  5. Gently pull on the black tabs to pull the formatter board from the MFP.
  6. Pull the board from the MFP, and then place it on a clean, flat, grounded surface.
  7. Grasp the flash memory card, and then pull it out of the formatter cage.
  8. Remove the new flash memory card from the antistatic package.
  9. Align the groove on the side of the flash memory card with the notches in the connector and push it in the slot until it is fully seated.
      caution:
    Do not insert the flash memory card at an angle.
      note:
    When reinstalling the firmware flash memory card, it must be installed in the slot marked FIRMWARE SLOT.
  10. Align the formatter board in the tracks at the bottom of the slot, and then slide the board back into the MFP.
      note:
    To prevent damage to the formatter board, ensure the formatter board is aligned in the tracks.
  11. Reinsert the formatter pressure release tabs by squeezing them together and pushing them into place. Make sure that the pressure release tabs are in the locked position
  12. Reconnect the power and interface cables to the rear of the MFP.
  13. Turn the MFP on.
