HP Notebook PCs - Windows Error Message Occurs "The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored"

Description
The following error is produced by Windows:
An error occurred while reconnecting <drive letter> to <network path> on Microsoft Window Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored.
Solution
This occurs when one computer uses network mapping to connect to another computer to share files.
To correct this issue, perform one of more of the following methods.
Method 1: Check equipment
  1. Ensure that the computer with the file share is powered on.
  2. Ensure that any router or network hub is powered on.
  3. Ensure that the cables are securely connected.
If this does not correct the problem, go to Method 2: Ensure the network resources are shared properly.
Method 2: Ensure the network resources are shared properly
Perform the following steps to share a folder on a drive, and connect to the shared drive.
To make a folder that is located on the hard drive accessible to another computer, follow the steps below.
  1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
  2. Right-click the folder that you want to share, click Sharing, and then click Share this folder.
To connect to the shared folder from another computer, follow the steps below.
  1. Click Start, then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type \\computer\share (where computer is the name of the computer where the network resource is located and share is the share name of the shared folder on that computer).
  3. Click OK.
