HP Scanjet 2300 and 3500 Series Scanners - Difference Between USB 2.0 Full Speed and USB 2.0 High Speed Devices
HP Scanjet 2300 and 3500 series are USB 2.0 full speed compliant
USB 2.0 full speed is transferring data at the same speed as USB 1.1 full speed (12Mbps), but uses new protocols that allow for faster devices to be connected to the same hub or system on newer model computers in the market.
Using USB 2.0 high speed devices transferring data at (480Mbps) is the fastest interface that a customer is expected to achieve.
In order to see the difference with this interface the customer must also have a USB 2.0 high speed card in the computer, and the other interfaces must not be the item limiting the scan speed.
Scan speed can also be limited by the speed and memory of the PC (the data gets to the PC quickly, but the PC cannot process it fast enough), and by the speed of the hard drive (the data cannot be saved fast enough).

Questions: How do I identify products that support USB 2.0?
Products that support USB and Hi-Speed USB are identified by different logos than previous versions of USB, as shown in the examples below.

note:This is the obsolete version of the USB logo and should not be used.
Figure : USB "certified"

Figure : Hi-Speed USB certified

note:Always connect an HP product directly to the USB port on the back of the computer, or into a powered hub. Some USB ports on other devices, or on the front of some computers might not provide enough power to maintain communication with the devices.
