Description:
The following firmware update utility is for the HP Color LaserJet CP2020 series printers.
This utility is for use on Mac OS 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9.
The utility can be used with a USB connection or network connection. Be sure to use the firmware update utility that is specific to you printer model.
This update is recommended for the HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series printers that have a previous firmware version.
This utility updates the multifunction printer firmware version to the latest version.
The firmware version can be found on the Self Test/Configuration Page which can be printed from the printer's Reports menu.

Flash Firmware Update Notes:
The HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series Firmware Update Utility for Macintosh OS 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 can use either a Network or USB connection to the printer.

The HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series printer must be on and in a READY state as shown by the LCD display on the control panel and remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.

Depending on the processor speed of your Mac, the firmware update process may complete on the printer before the update status progress bar in the flash firmware update utility on the Mac screen completes, this is normal.

Once the update process has started, do not use your Mac for any other activity until the process is complete.

Inform others connected to the product, both network and USB, to refrain from using the printer during the update period.

Do Not power cycle the product or the Mac until the firmware update process is complete.

Process:
1. Download the firmware update utility to your system.
2. Double click on the downloaded file and run the HP Firmware Updater.
3. Click Agree in the License Agreement pane.
4. You will be asked for your administrator password to install software components.
5. The software will look for the devices that require the update.
6. If the device is found it will be listed in the Device Firmware Update screen. If the device is not listed disconnect and reconnect the USB or network cable from the device to your computer and click Recheck.
7. Select the device and click Update. Note: The update should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Please be patient.
8. Wait while the HP Firmware Updater downloads the new firmware. The device will automatically turn off and then on. When completed it will display "READY".

Warning: Do not power cycle the device during this process.
9. On the HP Firmware Updater, wait until "Your device firmware has been successfully updated" message appears.
10. Click the Quit button. The firmware update is now finished.
11. If it is desired to verify the update, a configuration page can be printed from the printer. To print a configuration page please go to Reports -> Configuration Report on control panel. The configuration page will display the current firmware revision in the Product information block.

HP Color LaserJet CP2025 Printer Series Firmware Enhancements and Fix List

This firmware update includes the following enhancements and fixes:

Fixed an issue where the printer would not print via a network connection if the printer had been idle for an extended period of time, a cold restart would restore printing.

Fixed an issue that could cause a blurry mono print job if the job is sent immediately following a color print job.

The Power Save Time menu item has been restored to the menu system.
