SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The following are compatible system requirements for Windows and Macintosh:

Windows

  • Windows 2000: 333 MHz processor with 64 MB RAM
  • Windows XP: 333 MHz processor with 128 MB RAM
  • Windows Server 2003: 550 MHz processor with 128 MB RAM
  • Windows Vista: 800 MHz processor with 512 MB RAM

NOTE: All Windows operating systems also require a CD-ROM, DVD drive, or Internet connection to install the HP Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP printing-system software, as well as either a dedicated universal serial bus (USB 1.1 or 2.0) connectivity port or network connection to communicate with the product.

Network administrator software components

HP Web Jetadmin

Network administrators can use HP Web Jetadmin to configure and manage HP products across a variety of operating systems. There is no Mac OS X support for HP Web Jetadmin, but it can be used to administer networked printers that are accessed by Mac users.

NOTE: HP Web Jetadmin is not included on the CDs. Network administrators can download the HP Web Jetadmin software at the following Web site:
http://www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin

HP Driver Deployment Utility for Windows operating systems

The printing-system Administrator CD includes the HP Driver Deployment Utility (HP DDU) as one of the installer options. Network administrators can use this utility to create a custom printer-driver installation package that includes the components specific to your organization. Select the components from the printing-system Administrator CD. If the selected printer drivers support preconfiguration, you can select the Pre-configure this driver checkbox, so you can edit printer-driver settings. Upon completion, the HP DDU produces an executable file (*.EXE) and a *.CAB file. Use these files to install the preconfigured printer drivers on client machines. This utility supports silent, batch operations. To gain access to the customization utility, select Administrator Software on the first CD browser screen, and then select Driver Deployment Utility.

Preconfiguration settings include printing preferences in the printer driver and the Device Settings tab of the printer properties. Printing preferences include settings such as color control, duplexing, paper size, and other default settings. Some settings can be locked so that end-users cannot change those settings. Use the Device Settings tab to configure accessories that are accessed through the printer driver, such as product trays and output bins.

Update Now

If you have modified the configuration of the product since installation, the driver can be automatically updated with the new configuration in environments that support bidirectional communication. In the Printers and Faxes folder, right-click the printer and select Properties. On the Device Settings tab, click Automatic Configuration, and then select Update Now. This automatically captures the new configuration in the driver.

End-user software components
