HP LaserJet, HP OfficeJet Enterprise, HP PageWide Enterprise, HP Managed - Printers compatible with macOS Monterey 12.0, macOS Big Sur 11.0, and macOS Catalina 10.15

Whether upgrading the printer driver in macOS, or installing a printer running macOS 12.0, use this document to make sure the printer is compatible, and that you are using an install connection that the printer supports.

This document applies to the following printer families:

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise

  • HP LaserJet Managed

  • HP LaserJet Pro

  • HP LaserJet Ultra

  • HP OfficeJet Enterprise

  • HP PageWide Enterprise

  • HP PageWide Managed

Get the driver

The printers listed in the sections below can automatically use AirPrint, the default print path, when the printer and the Mac are connected to the same local network.

To add additional features, use the HP Easy Start utility.

  • If you have previously installed the printer using HP Easy Start, launch the HP Easy Start app from the dock and follow the onscreen instructions.

  • For first-time printer installs, follow these steps:

    1. Go to 123.hp.com.

    2. Download the HP Easy Start utility.

    3. Launch the app, select the printer, and then let the utility automatically install the driver(s) and add the print queue.

      Note:

      The HP Easy Start utility includes fax and/or scan drivers, and advanced HP features, such as custom paper size or orientation options.

If after installing the HP print driver in macOS Catalina (10.15) the features are not as expected, go to HP Printers - Print features do not work as expected or are missing in macOS Catalina (10.15) or Mojave (10.14) .

Additional information

AirPrint also provides basic fax (F) or scan (S) capability in OS X 10.10 and newer.

Download and install HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store by clicking the App Store icon in the Dock.

HP Easy Scan is compatible with OS X 10.11 and newer, and is the recommended scanning application for this HP LaserJet printer.
