Game Stream

Game Stream is a gaming service delivered through OMEN Gaming Hub. A minimum of two computers are required to use Game Stream. A supported OMEN PC functions as the host, and all client PCs must be running the Windows 10 operating system.


The Game Stream hosting feature is available only on certain computer models.

Set up an account in Game Stream

The first time you open Game Stream, you are prompted to create a user account. Your account can only be created on a host PC. To use Game Stream, you must create an account.

  1. On the sign in screen, first time users are directed create an account. Click Don't have an account? Sign up.

  2. On the Create your HP account screen, fill in the information and click SIGN UP.

  3. A verification code is sent to your email. Fill in the email verification code and click Submit.

    A screen verifies that your host account is set up.


    This screen disappears as soon as a client PC signs in with the same credentials.

  4. Install OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store on your client PC.

  5. Open OMEN Gaming Hub on the client PC and log in using the same credentials as the host PC.

Game Stream is now ready for remote game streaming.

Understand the host settings on Game Stream

When a user signs in on a client PC the host settings page displays. Depending on the number of clients signed in, the host settings page varies accordingly.

Use a client PC on Game Stream

When you sign in to Game Stream on a client PC the Launchpad screen displays. This displays the recently used applications on your OMEN.

Choose your favorite apps

Click the star in Recent apps or Browse apps to mark them as favorites. Click the star again to remove a favorite. You can choose up to five favorites.

Click Browse apps to see an alphabetical list of all apps on the host PC. You can select up to five favorite apps.

Start a stream from a client PC

Start a stream from a client PC by clicking an app in the Recent apps, Favorites, or All apps list. You can also start a stream by clicking Launch as remote desktop.

Understand the client settings on Game Stream

The Settings screen displays the number of hosts connected to the client PC.

  • One host connected in streaming state

Test the client PC streaming performance

Check the network connection between the client and the host PC.

  1. At the bottom of the Settings screen, click Test your streaming performance.

  2. To start the test, click Run.

  3. Use the table to determine the streaming performance of your computer. The performance rating and ping (or latency) scores are displayed in the Test your streaming performance section of the Game Stream window.

Enable Game Stream (PCs with NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics)

  1. To open the NVIDIA control panel, right-click anywhere on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.

  2. Select Manage 3D Settings.

  3. On the Global Settings tab, under Preferred graphics processor, select Auto-select.

  4. On the Program Settings tab, click Add.

  5. Select C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsApps\AD2F1837.OMENCommandCenter_5.1.308.0_x64_v10z8vjag6ke6\win32\Streamer\omen.exe, and then click Add Selected Program.

  6. If you see Select the preferred graphics processor for this program, select High-performance NVIDIA processor, and then click Apply.

  7. Restart the computer, and then you can connect to other computers and use NVIDIA graphics.
