HP LaserJet M207-M212 printers - Blinking lights
The following sections describe the most common error conditions with combinations of blinking (flashing) lights displayed on the printer control panel, followed by solutions for each combination. Find the blinking light pattern that displays on the control panel, and then follow the steps to resolve the issue.

Interpret light patterns for USB models.
The Status light blinks
The printer is processing a job or is initializing, restarting, cooling down, or cleaning. You do not need to take any action. Wait for a few minutes to complete the job.
If the Status light blinks quickly, turn off the printer, and then turn it. If the problem persists, contact HP Customer Support - Contact.
Attention icon is on and Paper icon blinks
The printer is out of paper or there is a paper jam. Make sure paper is loaded into the input tray.
Attention icon is on and Cartridge icon blinks
The cartridge might be very low on toner or there is a cartridge error.
Attention icon blinks
The cartridge access door is not properly closed.

Inspect and properly close the cartridge access door and rear access door.
Attention icon is off and Cartridge icon is on
The printer cartridge is low on toner.

You do not need to replace the toner now. Consider having a replacement cartridge available to install when the print quality degrades and becomes unacceptable.
Light patterns (M208dw, M209dw, M209dwe, and M211dw)
Interpret light patterns for wireless models.
Solid white light on the bar
The printer is idle and not connected to a wireless network.

Connect the printer to a wireless network.
Solid white light on the bar and the Cartridge light is on
The toner level is low.
You do not need to replace the toner now. Consider having a replacement cartridge available to install when the print quality degrades and becomes unacceptable.
Solid white light on the bar and the Cartridge icon blinks
The toner level is very low.

Replace the toner cartridge.
White light flashes on the bar
The printer is processing and printing a job.
You do not need to take any action. Wait for a few minutes to complete the job.
White light at the center of the bar
The printer is in sleep mode.
You do not need to take any action.
Solid amber light on the bar
The printer doors are not properly closed.

Inspect and properly close the cartridge access door and rear access door.
Solid amber light on the bar and the Paper icon blinks
The printer might be out of paper or paper is not loaded properly.
Solid amber light on the bar and the Cartridge icon blinks
The cartridge might be very low on toner or there is a cartridge error such as incompatible, unauthorized, or protected cartridge.
Amber light flashes fast on the bar
The printer has encountered a problem.

The printer has encountered a problem. Turn off the printer, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn on the printer.
Solid light blue light on the bar
The printer is idle and connected to a wireless network. A computer or mobile device is directly connected to the printer using Wi-Fi Direct.
You do not need to take any action.
The bar pulses light blue
The printer is trying to connect to a wireless network.
You do not need to take any action. Wait for the printer to connect to a wireless network.
The bar pulses solid blue and then flashes amber
The printer is unable to connect to a wireless network.
Solid green light on the bar
The printer is initializing, waiting for confirmation, performing automatic cleaning routines, downloading and installing a printer update, or cooling down.
The print job might pause during cooling down, and will continue when the printer is ready. This might take several minutes.
You do not need to take any action. Wait for a few minutes to complete the job.
Green light pulses on the bar
The printer is performing routine maintenance.
You do not need to take any action. Wait for the routine maintenance to complete.
Purple light pulses on the bar
The printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode.

to connect to the wireless network.
The bar quickly blinks purple and then flashes amber
The time has expired to make a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode connection.
