Learn how to set up, connect, configure, and work with the HP S430c 43.4-inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor.
The HP S430c 43.4-inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor allows you to connect and control two different PCs with a single keyboard and mouse on a single monitor using HP Device Bridge technology. The monitor automatically enters picture-by-picture (PbP) mode, with all the HP Device Bridge functions active, when two host computers are connected to the monitor with USB Type-C®.
note:
The HP S430c monitor is flexible in connecting hosts. It provides a single cable support for USB Type-C® enabled hosts that support DisplayPort Alt mode, and there is both an HDMI and a DisplayPort™ video connector to support legacy PCs.

Important terminology

  • USB Type-C® port or cable: A connection that transmits power, data, and video with only one cable.
  • USB Type-C® DP Alt Mode: A USB Type-C® port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode; supporting direct video connection to a display.
  • USB Type-C® to Type-A cable: A cable that connects to either USB Type-C® port 1 or USB Type-C® port 2 of the display, and USB Type-A on the host.
  • DisplayPort™ (DP): A video connection, much like HDMI. Check if your PC supports this connection.
  • HDMI: A video connection, much like DisplayPort™ (DP). Check if your PC supports this connection.
  • Picture-by-Picture mode (PbP): When the HP S430c display screen is partitioned into two screens (1920 x 1200 resolution), with one screen dedicated to each host.
  • OSD Menu: On-Screen Display menu that is accessible through the four buttons on the bottom right bezel of the display.
  • KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) functions: The function of using one set of mouse and keyboard for multiple hosts. HP Device Bridge includes this function.
