DESCRIPTION
The system fails to power on:
  • Does not complete POST
  • The display is blank
  • Power LED blinks in 3-red, 4-white pattern
The issue occurs if the system power communication cable is plugged into the wrong USB-C port on the connectivity base.

SCOPE

  • HP Engage One All-in-One System Model 141
  • HP Engage One All-in-One System Model 143
  • HP Engage One All-in-One System Model 145
I/O Connectivity Bases:
  • HP Engage One Basic I/O Connectivity Base
  • HP Engage One Advanced I/O Connuctivity Base
RESOLUTION
By design, the power and communication cable from the system must be plugged into the powered USB-C port on the connectivity base (see Figure 1 and Figure 2) in order for the system to power on.
NOTE: There are two USB-C ports on the connectivity bases but only one of them is a powered port. The powered port has a blue lightning bolt icon next to it.

NOTE: There will be a cable lock present to secure the USB-C cable to the powered port. There will be no cable lock on the non-powered USB-C port.
