Samsung Xpress SL-M267x, SL-M287x, SL-M288x Laser MFP - Clearing Paper Jams

The following procedures show how to clear paper jams. To avoid tearing the paper, pull the jammed paper out slowly and gently.

In tray

  1. Open and close the front cover. The jammed paper is automatically ejected from the printer. If the paper does not exit, go to the next step.
  2. Pull out tray.

  3. Remove the jammed paper by gently pulling it straight out. If the paper does not move when pulling, or if there is no paper in this area, check the fuser area around the toner cartridge.

  4. Insert tray back into the printer until it snaps into place. Printing automatically resumes.

In the manual feeder

  1. If the paper is not feeding properly, pull the paper out of the printer.

  2. Open and close the manual feeder.

Inside the printer

  caution:
The fuser area is hot. Take care when removing paper from the printer.

M2670, M2671, M2870, M2880 series

  1. Open the front cover.

  2. Remove the toner cartridge.

  3. Pull the jam guides, then remove a jammed paper.

  4. Close the jam guide.

  5. Install the toner cartridge.

  6. Close the front cover and check printing automatically resumes.

M2675, M2676, M2875, M2876, M2885, M2886 series

  1. Open the front cover.

  2. Remove the toner cartridge.

  3. Pull the jam guides, then remove a jammed paper.

  4. Close the jam guide.

  5. Install the toner cartridge.

  6. Close the front cover and check printing automatically resumes.

In the exit area

  caution:
The fuser area is hot. Take care when removing paper from the printer.
  1. Open and close the front cover. The jammed paper is automatically ejected from the printer. If there is no jammed paper, go to next step.
  2. Gently pull the paper out of the output tray.

    If there is no jammed paper or if there is any resistance when pulling, stop and go to the next step.
  3. Open the rear cover.

  4. Open the fuser cover by pushing each of the (green) side levers.

  5. Remove the jammed paper in the exit unit.

  6. Close the fuser cover.

  7. Close the rear cover and check printing automatically resumes.

In the duplex area

  1. Remove the rear cover.

  2. Remove the jammed paper in the duplex unit.

  3. Close the rear cover and check to see if printing automatically resumes.

    If there is no paper in this area, stop and go to next step:
  4. Remove the paper tray.

  5. Push the green handles to release the duplex unit.

  6. Remove the jammed paper in the duplex unit.

  7. Close the duplex unit.

  8. Insert the paper tray.
