HP Pro Slate 12 and 8 Tablet PCs - Cannot Pair Pen With Tablet or Tablet Does Not Duplicate What Is Written on the Writing Pad

DESCRIPTION
The tablet may not record what is written on the writing pad, or does not pair properly with the pen.

SCOPE
Information in this document applies to the following:
Computers:
  • HP Pro Slate 12 Tablet
  • HP Pro Slate 8 Tablet
RESOLUTION
Before contacting HP, pair the pen and the tablet according to the following steps:
  1. Charge the pen for at least two hours.
  2. Power on the tablet.
  3. Wake the pen by tapping the pen's stylus tip on the tablet's surface, the ink tip on paper, or pressing the pen's function button.
    note:
    If the tablet and pen are being powered on for the first time, the HP Duet Pen Pairing process launches automatically. If the process does not start automatically, continue with step 4 below.
  4. Swipe down twice from the tablet's top edge, then tap Settings, HP Duet Pen, and Pair a HP Duet Pen.
  5. Tap Start on the HP Duet Pen Pairing screen.
  6. Touch the target displayed on the screen until the HP Duet Pen Successfully Paired message is displayed.
The pen is now paired with the tablet.
