HP Tablet PCs - HP File Manager can no longer write to external storage devices (Android KitKat)

The tablet may display one of the following errors when opening HP File Manager or attempting to paste files into an external storage device:
Figure 1: Due to changes in the Android OS, HP File Manager can no longer write to external storage devices.
Figure 2: You can only paste your data under the App-Specific Directory on your external storage device. Do you want to go to the directory and proceed? Data will be deleted if you uninstall HP File Manager. If you remove the storage device and attach it to your PC you will have to navigate to this directory to find your data.
To resolve the issue, click Ok to go to an application's folder. This is a cross platform issue caused by an Android security permission. Data can only be pasted into the App-Specific Directory on the external storage device.
For more information about this issue, refer to the following link:
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html

The preceding link takes you outside the HP Web site. HP does not control and is not responsible for information outside the HP Web site.
