A stop error may occur after uninstalling HP Drive Encryption from a fully encrypted drive following an F11 factory reset.

  • Microsoft Windows 8 Pro
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, perform the F11 factory reset again. Decrypt the drive, and then uninstall the HP Drive Encryption software.
NOTE: To avoid this issue in the future, decrypt all encrypted drives before attempting to uninstall HP Drive Encryption.
