HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press - Touchscreen panels

This section describes how to use the touchscreen panels on the unwinder and the rewinder.
Touch the required button or icon on the screen to select an option. Some components are read-only and are not sensitive to touch.
If you touch a field that requires input, a virtual keyboard appears.
If the content of one screen continues onto another screen, touch to open the next screen.
The unwinder and rewinder touchscreens include the following components, which are always visible.
  • Main toolbar
  • Print controls

Main toolbar

The main toolbar is used to access frequently used screens.
The main toolbar includes the following icons:
  • — Opens the Main screen
  • — Opens the Function screens
  • — Opens the Tension screen
  • — Opens the Diagnostic screens
  • — Opens the Packer arm screen. This icon appears only on the rewinder touchscreen.

Print controls

The print controls show the press state and operates the press.
The print controls include the following icons:
  • Stop — Stops the movement of the substrate thought the press.
  • Pause — Pauses the movement of the substrate thought the press for one minute.
  • Inspect — Slows the movement of the substrate thought the press. This icon appears only on the rewinder touchscreen.

Unwinder main screen

Use the Unwinder main screen to view basic information about the unwinder.

  1. Current job name
  2. Rotational direction of the substrate roll that remains on the substrate roll
  3. Substrate tension the unwinder
  4. Diameter of the substrate roll
  5. Estimated length of substrate

Unwinder function screens

The Unwinder function screens enable you to use the basic unwinder functions.

  1. Determines the substrate speed during web feed
  2. Changes the rotational direction of the substrate roll
  3. Jogs the substrate forward or backward
  4. Engages or disengages the right clamp
  5. Engages or disengages both clamps
  6. Engages or disengages the left clamp
  7. Lowers clamps and releases tension / Raises clamps and increases tension

  1. Lowers clamps and releases tension / Raises clamps and increases tension
  2. Calibrates the unwinder for a substrate roll core with a diameter of 6 inches
  3. Calibrates the unwinder for a substrate roll core with a diameter of 3 inches

Unwinder tension screen

Use the Unwinder tension screen to change substrate tension in the unwinder.

Unwinder diagnostic screens

Use the Unwinder diagnostic screens to diagnose issues with the unwinder.

  1. Sends the impression roller to its home position
  2. Pneumatically engages or disengages the impression roller
  3. Electronically engages or disengages the impression roller

  1. Engages or disengages the feed input nip roller
  2. Rotates the feed input nip roller

  1. Displays the status of the dancer sensors
  2. Displays the status of the dancer web brake sensor
  3. Displays the status of the dancer empty sensor
  4. Displays the status of the roll position sensor

  1. Displays technician information
  2. Accesses the operating system
  3. Brightens or dims the touchscreen
  4. Disables the touchscreen for one minute so that you can clean it

Rewinder main screen

Use the Rewinder main screen to view basic information about the rewinder.

  1. Current job name
  2. Rotational direction of the substrate roll
  3. Substrate tension in the rewinder
  4. Diameter of the substrate roll
  5. Estimated length of substrate that has been rolled onto the substrate roll

Rewinder function screens

The Rewinder function screens enable you to use the basic rewinder functions.

Use the Rewinder tension screen to change substrate tension in the rewinder.

  2. Changes the taper tension percentage

Rewinder diagnostic screens

Use the Rewinder diagnostic screens to diagnose issues with the rewinder.

Rewinder packer arm screen

Use the Rewinder packer arm screen to change the packer arm settings.

  2. Engages or disengages the packer arm
  3. Activates or deactivates the packer arm clamp
