HP Photosmart A510, A512, and A516 Printers - 'Print cartridge cradle is stuck. Clear jam then press OK' Status Message Displays on the Printer Screen

Issue
A Print cartridge cradle is stuck. Clear jam then press OK. status message displays on the printer screen.
Solution
Check the display screen for instructions. To clear a paper jam, try the following solutions:
Solution one: Remove paper from the front of the printer
If the paper came part way through the front of the printer, remove the paper from the front of the printer.
  1. Gently pull the paper toward you to remove it.
  2. Press the OK button to continue printing.
Solution two: Remove paper from the rear of the printer
If the paper did not come part way through the front of the printer, remove it from the back of the printer.
  1. Remove the paper from the input tray.

  2. Gently pull the jammed paper to remove it from the back of the printer.
  3. Press the OK button to continue printing.
Solution three: Turn the printer off
If you cannot grasp the edge of the jammed paper to remove it, try the following:
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  3. If the optional HP Photosmart Internal Battery is installed in the printer, open the battery compartment cover and remove the battery. Wait 30 seconds and then reinstall the battery.

  4. Wait 30 seconds and then connect the power cord to the printer.
      note:
    If you are using the battery to supply power to the printer, the power cord does not have to be plugged in.
  5. Turn on the printer. The printer checks for paper in the paper path and automatically ejects the jammed paper.
  6. Press the OK button to continue printing.
