Do Not
Keep the print cartridges sealed in the original packaging until ready to use. Ink can evaporate through the nozzles and the plastic cartridge body, reducing the life of the ink product. Therefore, print cartridges have a longer shelf life when sealed in the packaging.
Do not reapply tape to a print cartridge. Attempting to reapply the tape can cause colors to mix, ruining the cartridge.
After opening the ink product, store the product in the printer in its "home position" (the printer does this automatically) to prevent ink from drying out in the nozzles. This will minimize the risk of contamination with airborne particles.
| |
If a print cartridge must be removed from the printer:
Do not allow the nozzles on the bottom of the cartridge to touch the bottom or side of the rigid plastic container. If the nozzles contact the container, the ink colors could mix, or ink could drain out of the cartridge.
Do not re-tape the cartridge.
Do not place the cartridge in a plastic bag.
Turn the printer OFF by pressing the power button. Turning the power OFF directs the printer to cap the cartridge in the service station, which helps prevent ink from drying in the nozzles.
Do not unplug the printer without first turning the printer OFF by pressing the power button. This will leave the cartridge vulnerable to evaporation and dust contamination.
Store the ink product at room temperature. It is not necessary to store this product in a refrigerated environment.
Re-tape the ink product if the tape has been removed or if the ink product is removed from the printer. If the ink product must be removed, store it at room temperature in a rigid sealed plastic container. Note that the proper orientation for this cartridge is nozzles down. Make sure the nozzles on the ink product do not touch the side of the container.
Store the print cartridge at room temperature.
It is not necessary to refrigerate print cartridges.
Store the unopened print cartridge in an upright position.
Do not store the packaged print cartridge on its side or upside-down for long periods of time.
