HP DesignJet Printers - Process a print file in the computer

Issue:

Receiving memory error messages on an HP DesignJet printer, or experiencing problems when printing large or complex files.

Solution

Process the file in computer. To do this, please follow the instructions below.

note:
Processing the print file on the computer will limit the functionality of the computer while the file is processing. Once the print file has processed and the image has started to print, the computer will become available for other processing.

Access the printer/plotter's properties.
Select the Advanced tab.
At the top of this window notice the title Process document. In this section choose "In Computer."
Click the OK button.
The file processing will now be done in the computer.

note:
The above solution is only available if the HPGL2/RTL driver is being used. The "process in computer option" is not available in PostScript (R) drivers.
